Sanchez gets the honor of being the opening day starter and let us all hope that he isn’t too amped up and can keep his emotions in check.

When Sanchez is under control, he can be one of the best pitchers in the game.

Westbrook was hit hard in his first start against the Padres, which is not a good sign because the Padres are not going to be a great hitting team this year.

I hope for the Giants sake he doesn’t bounce back at all and throws BP, making opening day a fun game to watch.

Cain hasn’t allowed an earned run since October 1st of last year. That is an impressive streak and one that I really hope keeps going.

The big concern for him is after getting a huge barrage of run support, will the offense decide to show up to help him out?

Garcia in his first start set out to show that last season was not a fluke and that he really is a front of the rotation starter. Well, he got my attention, that is for sure.

I imagine that he will do well against the Giants lineup because this style of pitcher always seems to give the Giants trouble. Maybe with a new season, things will change.

Zito pitches very well in his opening debut if you forget the first inning. If you take into account that he was in a major car accident, things look even better.

I went out on a limb early this season saying that Zito will put up his best numbers since joining the team and I continue to stand by that.

Loshe had a similar type outing as Zito where he had one bad inning and then pitched pretty well the rest of the way. The Cardinals seem to be pretty optimistic about him being able to rebound.

I think that if the Giants are able to be patient (this is easier now than in the past), they can score some runs but they can’t get themselves out.
