Giants Link Round-Up 4/1

Well, the Giants are not going to be undefeated this year, but one game isn't the end of the world. Here are the best Giants links of the week to help you get past the loss from last night.

Minor League Ball: Prospect of the Day: Brandon Belt. John Sickles gives a quick look at Belt's rise through the minors and what he expects for the kid.

Paapfly: Lincecum's Opening Day velocity. I was going to write about this, but Rory beat me to it and I don't really have anything to add beyond that. Just a quick note; his velocity on the road has always been better than it was at home. I am not sure the reason for this, but it has been that way over his whole career. Lets see what the numbers look like when he gets the ball at AT&T.

Frisco Fastball: Fear the Pornstache? Barry Zito has something new on his upper lip and it is interesting.

Snow Would Have Had It: A Travis Ishikawa Appreciation Post. Maiya did the heavy lifting and linked to Ishikawa's best highlights as a Giant. I will remember Travis fondly.

El Lefty Malo: A New National Holiday, and Other Opening Day Story Lines. Count me as on board with Opening Day being a holiday. It should be a Friday with all day baseball, with the defending World Champs on national TV for the night cap.

Crazy Crabbers: Read about my man crush that I am developing on Clayton Kershaw. That kid is going to be something special and I hate that he's in the same division as the Giants. Also, here is a look at the programing notes for this season.
