Tim Lincecum had a down year by his lofty standards but he had his Cy Yong stuff at the right time this season.
Year | W | L | G | GS | CG | SHO | IP | H | R | ER | HR | BB | SO | |||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2010 | 16 | 10 | .615 | 3.43 | 33 | 33 | 1 | 1 | 212.1 | 194 | 84 | 81 | 18 | 76 | 231 | 119 | 1.272 | 8.2 | 0.8 | 3.2 | 9.8 | 3.04 |
We may not remember this as much but during the first couple months of the season Lincecum was still the freak, it wasn't until later that things started to turn for him and give every fan a heart attack and raise such silly ideas as his hair was causing him to loose zip on his fastball or throwing off his mechanics.
The season reached rock bottom in August where he looked completely lost but from this low point emerged Lincecum with a new pitch in his arsenal and he led the Giants pitching staff on a historic pitching run in September and was the Ace that anchored the staff in the playoffs.
Lincecum started with a historic gem against the Braves and was nearly as impressive out pitching Cliff Lee in the deciding game of the World Series.
The ride may have been bumpy and it won't end in a Cy Young this season but it did end with a much bigger trophy for the whole team and this fan base.
If your on Twitter you should definitely follow the The Crazy Crabbers. If you're not you should really consider joining, lots of good stuff going on there.
