With his start from last night he ended his streak of 10 consecutive quality starts and did it in style giving up a single, double, single, double, single, double, single, double, strikeout, and finally on more double. A total of 9 hits with 5 doubles and 4 singles while only retiring the opposing pitcher.

So what went wrong?

Well for one, his defense didn't do him any favors on not turning some tough plays into outs but for the most part this was on him leaving too many pitches in the zone.

Of his 25 pitches he threw 22 for strikes and a lot of these were in the happy zone for the Twins hitters.

Everything else looked good he had a solid fastball and the sliders who threw weren't hanging everything just was out in the middle of the plate and the Twins who are a hot team didn't miss.

I am not worried about how Bumgarner threw, sometimes these things happen. The only worry that I have going forward is that this might be in his head next time he pitches. I don't think that will be the case but it will be something to keep an eye on.

At least on the bright side the bullpen was lights out until a cheap homer down the right field line in the ninth.
