Bruce Bochy said that Brandon Belt would have to do something big to earn playing time (as stupid as the thought that his playing time is based on a one game sample size) and Belt capitalized on his opportunity, going 2-4 with two no-doubt home runs.
It was nice to see Belt being a little more aggressive this game but he still had good control of the strike zone.
His first home run, he jumped on a first pitch Chris Volstad sinker that was up in the zone and tattooed it out of the deepest part of the yard. The power that he generated on that swing seemed so effortless too. It's amazing considering the ball went an estimated 435 feet.
It's safe to say that Belt doesn't have a hole in his swing there.
Next here is the path of the ball from hit tracker and the video (which will be embeddable in a couple of months when few people will care).
That was probably not exactly where Dunn wanted to put that pitch and Belt was able to take advantage and hit the ball hard. This was the first homer that Dunn had given up to a lefty this season, so this was a pretty nice accomplishment for Belt.

Overall, a very nice day from Belt. Hopefully he does get hot so Bochy doesn't have an excuse to leave him out of the lineup.
