Clay Davenport released his first projected standings for the 2012 season over the weekend and his projections say that the Giants should contend but they are far from the favorites in the NL West.
The plus side is that they are projected to allow the second fewest runs in Major League Baseball at 619. The bad news the 634 projected runs scored still puts them in 11th place of 16 teams.
