The Giants "All-Star" Performances
The Giants are sending 3 of their starting pitchers to the All-Star game (thank you Bruce Bochy) and not everyone is happy with this. I think that the guys are deserving of making the game but each in their last start out was a little less than stellar and didn't do much to help make their case.
From July 3-5 the Giants All-Star pitchers pitched back to back to back. The Giants went 0-3 in this stretch with the combined line of the pitchers being 18.2 innings allowing 11 runs (10 earned) good for a 4.84 ERA, with 15 strikeouts and 6 walks.

Pablo Sandoval has had an interesting start to his career. In 2009 he emerged on the scene as incredibly gifted bad ball hitter who has the season progressed developed a bit of an eye and some decent pop. After the excellent first full season he followed that up with an impressive first month before falling into a major slump that he couldn't pull him self out of.
He had gone from the guy to a spot starter in the span of 18 months, gained a good 30-40 pounds and people were questioning if he was just a flash in the pan.

Loyalty
Loyalty is a funny thing.
We go through our spring and fall, facing our fellow fans at work and among our friends bolstered by our records in winning streaks, and in skids only by our loyalty; and it is by the latter we judge ourselves either fickle or ‘true’ fans.
True fans swallow bitter pills and ask for nothing sweeter.

Giants Pre-Season Hitting Projection's Revisited
We have just passed the halfway point on the season, so it seems appropriate to take a look back at how I have done with my 2011 Giants projections.
Overall, just about everyone was within my best and worst case scenarios and I did fairly well in the rate stats (except for slugging, which I generally overstated) but the weird playing time threw off some of the counting stats.
Here is the rundown of how I did:
